Tigers’ Graham set to join Crows in AFL

Richmond ruckman Angus Graham is set to join the Adelaide Crows in the latest deal struck during the AFL trade period.

The 25-year-old played just one senior game for the Tigers last season, ironically because Richmond recruited ex-Crow tapman Ivan Maric.

But the Crows entered the trade period seeking a support ruckman to their first-choice Sam Jacobs, given their pending loss of uncontracted Kurt Tippett to Sydney.

Adelaide are expected to give Richmond draft pick No.40 and a compensation pick for losing free agent Chris Knights, who has joined the Tigers.

Knights’ compensation pick, expected to be in the third round of the draft, will be released by the AFL later on Friday.

The Tigers in turn will give Adelaide their pick 50 and Graham.

A Crows’ spokesman was not immediately available for comment but Graham met coach Brenton Sanderson in Adelaide earlier on Friday to seal the deal.
