Testicle cancer for Blues AFL player Rowe

Carlton mature-aged AFL recruit Sam Rowe has had a cancerous tumour removed from his testicles.

The 24-year-old will undergo chemotherapy for the next six weeks, which is expected to completely cure him of what was diagnosed as stage one cancer.

The Blues, who were told of the diagnosis by Rowe on Thursday, said he would resume his career once the treatment was finished.

Rowe, a key forward, was recruited by the Blues from SANFL club Norwood with the No.44 pick in last November’s national draft.
