Sydney have adopted a wait and see attitude on the chances of star AFL veterans Lance Franklin and Josh Kennedy playing against Hawthorn on Friday but speedster Zak Jones is definitely out.

Jones will miss up to three games with the hamstring issue which forced him off the ground in last Saturday’s win over North Melbourne, while co-captain and fellow midfielder Kennedy was a late scratching from that match with a quadriceps issue.

Franklin has missed four games with a hamstring injury but coach John Longmire says the forward ran well on Monday and he and Kennedy will be checked at training on Wednesday.
