Swans confirm Jetta wants WA trade

It appears Lewis Jetta ended his Sydney Swans career in the substitute vest, with the Swans confirming the speedster has requested a trade.

Jetta asked to be traded to Fremantle or West Coast on Wednesday, so he could move home to Western Australia and be closer to his family.

Sydney general manager Tom Harley said the Swans would explore trade options with both clubs.

“The club has put a good offer to Lewis and, while we are disappointed, we certainly understand the strong pull for him to return home to Western Australia with his young family,” Harley told the Swans’ website.

“Lewis is not a free agent, so we will work on securing a fair trade for the Swans during the upcoming exchange period.”

The news comes on the same day Adelaide free agent Patrick Dangerfield asked to leave the Crows and nominated Geelong as his club of choice.
