Melbourne star Jack Viney’s foot injury will keep him sidelined for up to six weeks in a major blow to the Demons’ AFL finals hopes.
Viney had surgery on a plantar fascia injury on Monday afternoon after pulling up sore in Friday night’s loss to Sydney at the MCG.
“We expect his recovery from this operation to be approximately four to six weeks, based on how quickly his foot can be reloaded post-operation,” Demons football boss Josh Mahoney said.
