Gold Coast football manager Marcus Ashcroft has denied any suggestion the Suns would contemplate trading injured AFL captain Gary Ablett.
The dual Brownlow medallist’s 2016 season is over after re-injuring his reconstructed left shoulder during last weekend’s win over Brisbane at Metricon Stadium, leaving the 32-year-old’s future in doubt.
“That’s not even a consideration. Gaz is part of our footy club for the next two years and will remain to be so,” Ashcroft told SEN Radio when asked about possibly trading Ablett.
