Suns lose Warnock for at least two months

Gold Coast Suns defender Matthew Warnock will be sidelined for “at least” two months after breaking his arm in their last round AFL loss to Port Adelaide.

Warnock underwent surgery to have a plate inserted in his left arm after falling awkwardly in the 38-point defeat at Metricon Stadium last Saturday night.

“Matthew was transported to hospital immediately after the game on Saturday night where it was confirmed that he had fractured his left radius,” Suns football manager Marcus Ashcroft said.

“He underwent surgery yesterday and we anticipate that the injury will keep Matthew sidelined for at least eight weeks.”

Suns coach Guy McKenna must reshuffle his defence yet again for Saturday’s clash with Greater Western Sydney, as he sweats on the return of vice-captain Nathan Bock (broken leg).
