Sixteenth placed St. Kilda (two wins this season) take on seventeenth placed Melbourne (one win this season) with only pride at stake.

St. Kilda showed some of that quality in their last match in round 11 when pushing West Coast all the way before falling an agonisingly four points short.

It was their fourth loss in a row but showed what the Saints are capable of on their day with consistency their greatest obstacle this year.

The inevitable happened this week with Melbourne Coast Mark Neeld being sacked during the week.

As stated on Monday, he won’t be the only casualty in the Melbourne re-structure and this announcement, should serve as incentive as players this weekend.

That being said, it still will not be enough for Melbourne one would think, given recent efforts, to stop them falling to their eighth consecutive loss.

Given the Dees have been allocated 40.5 points start, coupled with the events during the week, the Saints 1 – 39 may be the better option.
