Shaw reportedly re-signs with Collingwood

Collingwood defender Heath Shaw has reportedly re-signed with the AFL club until 2015.

Melbourne newspaper The Herald Sun says Shaw has penned a new deal which will tie him to the Magpies for a further three years.

The premiership defender would join gun midfielders Scott Pendlebury, Dale Thomas and Dane Swan in re-signing with the club over the past 13 months.

Key forward Travis Cloke, considered one of Greater Western Sydney’s biggest targets at the Magpies, has delayed contract negotiations until the end of the season.

Shaw was welcomed to the Magpies’ leadership group this season despite his second public off-field discretion last year.

Shaw was suspended for 14 weeks – six of them suspended – and fined $20,000 for placing a $10 bet on teammate Nick Maxwell to kick the first goal in round nine.

His club suspended him for the remainder of the 2008 season (four rounds and finals) in August that year for lying about a drink-driving incident with Alan Didak.
