Scully set to make debut for AFL’s Giants

Greater Western Sydney’s $6 million dollar man Tom Scully is set to make his debut for the AFL’s newest team in their round-two clash with North Melbourne on Sunday.

The former Demon missed the club’s debut loss to Sydney two weeks ago because of a fractured cheekbone.

The 20-year-old midfielder is tipped to be joined in Hobart this weekend by Luke Power (ex-Brisbane) and Dean Brogan (ex-Port Adelaide), who boast four premierships between them.

Brogan and Power, who are both assistant coaches at the Giants, missed the game against Sydney due to back and hamstring injuries respectively.

“It’ll be nice to get out there and give a bit of direction and help the guys,” Power told the afl.com.au website on Wednesday.

“And just to play with them. One day, I’ll be saying to my kids that I played with a lot of these guys.”

Power said Scully, who has signed a six-year deal with the Giants, will become a great player for GWS.

However, the Giants could be without code-crossing recruit Israel Folau who skipped training on Wednesday for personal reasons.
