Rundle Mall to become Dangerfield Mall after re-signing?

News that Patrick Dangerfield is on the verge of re-signing with the Adelaide Crows is expected to be extremely well received by the South Australian community, with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au offering odds of $21 that the city will rename Rundle Mall to Dangerfield Mall by Monday.

$13 has also been priced for the city to build a statue of Dangerfield at AAMI Stadium by the end of 2012, while $51 is on offer for those who think they will rename AAMI Stadium ‘Dangerfield Stadium’ for this Saturday night’s match v Collingwood.

“If he does sign on the locals will be absolutely pumped and we expect some pretty big celebrations,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

“We expect that they will show him a lot of love and renaming the famous Rundle Mall for a day might be a good start!”

For the team to be renamed the Adelaide Dangerfields for this weekend’s game is priced at $101, while Dangerfield to be voted the next Lord Mayor of Adelaide is in the market at $251.

An even longer chance is for the state of South Australia to be renamed ‘Dangerfield’ at $501.
