North Melbourne ruckman Hamish McIntosh requires knee surgery and could be out of AFL action for another six weeks.
McIntosh had missed the past two matches with knee soreness, but suffered another injury on Wednesday while jumping at training.
The Kangaroos announced on Friday that McIntosh will take another four to six weeks to recover from this setback.
“Scans have revealed Hamish sustained a lateral meniscus tear to his knee and will require arthroscopic surgery,” Kangaroos medical services director Steve Saunders said in a statement.
“This is obviously very frustrating for Hamish because he was close to returning to play from a previous injury.”
The Kangaroos said they would have to wait until after the operation to confirm the recovery time.
