Star forward Cyril Rioli has trained strongly in Hawthorn’s final hit-out before Saturday’s AFL grand final against Sydney.
Rioli made his comeback at VFL level last weekend after three months out with a hamstring injury and the 2012 All-Australian is pushing strongly for a recall to the senior side.
Onballer Jordan Lewis has also moved well after suffering a corked thigh in last week’s preliminary final win over Port Adelaide.
Both sides will name their lineups on Thursday night.
“He looked really good and I suppose if the coaches had any doubt they probably have a bigger headache now seeing that he trained really well and they’ve got to make that selection,” Lewis told reporters after Thursday’s one-hour session at Waverley Park.
Lewis said his bruised thigh was giving him no problems and had improved each day this week.
“It wasn’t a test today but it was good to get out there and finally see you can run at full pace without any restrictions,” Lewis said.
Veteran onballer Brad Sewell also trained with the main group in a bid to force his way back in the side, as did ruckman Ben McEvoy.
