Nick Riewoldt is well-placed to overtake Danny Frawley as St Kilda’s longest-serving captain later this year after being reappointed to the top role for a ninth season on Friday.
The key forward has already led the Saints into AFL battle 160 times, behind only the 177 games Frawley served as skipper.
Riewoldt, 31, will head up a six-man leadership group in Alan Richardson’s first season as a senior coach.
