Preview:

It’s obvious that Richmond (who are in their first AFLW season) are a developing team and the Cats have had their chances in all three matches but have fell short.

Geelong almost got their first win of the season last week remaining within five points of Adelaide, until the final minutes of the game.

It was a gallant loss for the Cats and despite trailing by 12 points at half-time their intensity really lifted in the second half of the match.

The last minute was an absolute thriller and had Maddy McMahon not been paid a deliberate rushed behind, they may have had enough time to get the ball down to the other end to seal the game but it wasn’t to be.

Geelong has shown in the first three rounds of AFLW that they can really play some top football but keeping it consistent for four full quarters has been a struggle.

For the Tigers, they were schooled by premiership fancies North Melbourne going down to them by 56 points.

Richmond has shown they can be competitive, especially early in the matches but the game was over by the second quarter as North put on 13 inside 50 to just 1 to the Tigers along with five unanswered goals.

It took until the third quarter of last weeks match for the Tigers to score a goal and in all three of their first AFLW matches, Richmond has only scored two goals per match.

Despite both teams going into this game without a win this season, Geelong go into the match clear favorites and should be able get the job done over Richmond who are still a work in progress.
