Port’s Westhoff to front AFL Tribunal

Port Adelaide’s Justin Westhoff will front the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night after electing to contest a striking charge.

Westhoff has been charged with a level-three striking offence following a clash with Essendon’s Cale Hooker at three-quarter time of Sunday’s round-15 game at Eithad Stadium.

The 225-point charge is reduced to 168.75 and a one-match penalty because of the player’s good record over the past six years.

Adelaide’s Shaun McKernan has accepted a two-match suspension for striking West Coast’s Brad Shephard during Saturday night’s clash at AAMI Stadium, while West Coast’s Patrick McGinnity has accepted a three-game ban for engaging in rough conduct against Adelaide’s Bernie Vince.

Brisbane’s Dayne Zorko has accepted a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record for striking Gold Coast’s Tom Murphy.

Western Bulldogs’ Adam Cooney has accepted a $900 sanction for wrestling Greater Western Sydney’s Taylor Adams and Adams has accepted a one-match ban for striking Cooney.
