Fremantle will look to cement its top-four credentials when it takes on a reeling Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night. The Dockers have won 10 of their last 11, including a gritty 27-point comeback win over Carlton last week, but will be without midfield bull Hayden Young after an adductor strain.
Port Adelaide, meanwhile, is in freefall. Consecutive thrashings at the hands of Adelaide and Geelong have seen the Power slump to 8-12, with their past two losses coming by a staggering combined margin of 186 points. Confidence is clearly shot, and facing a surging Fremantle outfit won’t help.
The Dockers cruised to a 49-point win when the sides met in Round 11, with Caleb Serong starring through the middle. Given current form, another convincing Fremantle win appears likely as they continue their push toward September.
