Port Adelaide vs Essendon Bombers Preview
One look back at recent results between these two foes suggests we could be in for a real thriller on Friday night.
To refresh your memory, both sides met twice last season, Port winning by no more than five points on each occasion.
In similar fashion, both clubs were on opposite ends of narrow margins last week Port fading in the final term to a rampant Demons outfit, and the Bombers overcoming the Saints thanks to some much-needed Jake Stringer brilliance.
Port at home is always a tough out, not the fans of the sash need any reminding.
Essendons last win over the Power down south came way back in 2018, and although last weeks victory against St Kilda was encouraging, I think it may have said more about the Saints than it did the Bombers.
Port has been a tricky betting proposition off a loss, posting a dismal 3-4 record in this spot over the last 12 months.
They look to have the advantage through the midfield on paper, but the Bombers have quietly been one of the most efficient teams when it comes to disposals not to mention their work around the clearances which currently ranks first in the league.
Keep an eye on the injury report with both sides potentially featuring key outs, but for now, I dont think theres as much separating these two clubs as the current market suggests.
