Port Adelaide lead St Kilda by 39 points

Port Adelaide have dominated St Kilda to open up a 39-point halftime lead in their AFL match at Etihad Stadium.

Chad Wingard and John Butcher have booted two goals each as the Power lead 10.8 (68) to 4.5 (29).

Port took control of the match by denying St Kilda the football for much of the first and second quarters, dominating the clearances and centre bounces.

After both teams had booted two goals each to open the match, Port kicked seven unanswered goals to open up a 46-point lead early in the second term before St Kilda managed a reply.

Port have been well served by their midfield led by Travis Boak, and ruckman Matthew Lobbe has been excellent both in the ruck and around the ground.

Going into Saturday night’s match, Port have an 8-7 win-loss record and sit inside the top eight.

St Kilda have won just three matches this season.
