Collingwood have ruled out key duo Heath Shaw and Dale Thomas for the next two AFL matches because of hamstring injuries.
“Heath suffered a minor hamstring injury at the end of training on Wednesday, while Dale hasn’t fully recovered from a slight hamstring disruption he sustained against Carlton last week, which is disappointing,” Collingwood director of football Geoff Walsh said on the club’s website on Thursday.
“While the injuries to both players are relatively minor, because of the timing of our matches over the next two rounds, both players will be unavailable for selection against Port Adelaide (on Saturday) and Essendon (on Wednesday).”
Magpies onballer Luke Ball is out for the season after injuring his knee last week while defender Ben Reid is unavailable with a thigh injury.
