The wooden spoon comes into focus under the roof at Marvel on Sunday.

North was handed a heavy 75-point loss at GMHBA last week against the Cats, while the understrength Hawks also came up 53 points shy of the Suns on the Gold Coast.

This game could be good for all the wrong reasons, but I think I want to be on North Melbourne based on everything we’ve seen.

For the Hawks, their entire attacking strategy hinges on winning the clearance battle, an area that has cost them dearly in back to back games against Collingwood and the Suns.

If Hawthorn comes out on top, they’ll be able to get the ball forward to their powerful forwards, but that won’t come easy against a North team that surprisingly ranks third in centre clearances won.

We’ve seen the Kangaroos play their best footy at Marvel, and they do have the midfield – led by Harry Sheezl – to really compete with the likes of Jai Newcombe and Karl Amon.
