North Melbourne as able to hold off a pesky Gold Coast Suns outfit last week going on to win by 13 points in their Arden Street homecoming.
The Roos had a number of skill-errors and kicked three straight behinds in the final quarter before forward Daisy Bateman got the Roos home with her second goal late in the match.
Despite having the likes of Erin Phillips and Rhiannon Metclafe back in the side, the Crows went down to Adelaide by eight points in the meeting of last year’s AFLW grand finalists.
Adelaide allowed Carlton to kick the first three goals of the match and was playing catch up for the rest of the game.
Coming back from her ACL injury, Erin Phillips made a big impact on the game with 13 disposals and an impressive one-handed mark.
When the two sides last met in Round 5 of last season, the Crows won comfortably over North by 35 points.
The game was highlighted by the matchup between Erin Phillips and North’s Emma Kearney – the two players that have both won the AFLW MVP award and saw Phillips with 23 disposals and two goals from the midfield and Kearney a ball magnet – 31 touches to her name.
There’s every chance we could get a similar match up and possibly a closer game than the Crows flogging (in AFLW standards) of North Melbourne.
The market has the line at -6.5 in favour of the Roos and based on their recent form they should be able to get the job done over the Crows this Saturday.
