Brisbane Lions coach Justin Leppitsch has backed ruckman Matthew Leuenberger ahead of his showdown with the best big man in the business on Sunday.
Out of favour for much of the year, Leuenberger will go head-to-head with Fremantle’s Aaron Sandilands this weekend with Brisbane’s No. 1 ruckman Stef Martin suspended.
Leppitsch says it will be an ideal opportunity for Leuenberger, who is out of contract at year’s end, to prove he still has value at AFL level.
