No charges laid from AFL grand final

Western Bulldogs skipper Easton Wood has avoided any sanction for an incident in Saturday’s AFL grand final where Sydney’s Dan Hannebery suffered a knee injury.

The match review panel assessed the fourth-quarter incident, where Wood slid in low in an attempt to gain possession, making contact with Hannebery’s knee in the process.

The MRP said that while the umpires had erred in not awarding a free kick to the Swans’ onballer, Wood’s action did not meet the definition of rough conduct.
