Triple premiership coach Mick Malthouse is a hot $1.15 favourite with Sportingbet Australia to be the new Carlton coach.
Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan says Malthouse is dominating the market after Brett Ratten was officially sacked this morning.
“It appears the job is Malthouse’s if he wants it,” Sullivan said.
“If Malthouse says no I suppose they work down the list to Alan Richardson and Rodney Eade who are $8 and $11 chances respectively.”
Former Sydney Swans coach Paul Roos is also in the market at $13.00.
Punters think Ratten is still a chance of coaching AFL next year with the dumped Blues coach firming from $7.50 into $5.50 to coach Port Adelaide.
“Ratten has been by far and away the best supported to get the Port Adelaide job in the last 24 hours and interest has spiked since he was officially sacked from Carlton,” Sullivan said.
