Melbourne are set to announce the sacking of coach Mark Neeld, who has only served half of his three-year contract for a return of just five victories from 33 games.
The AFL club have called a 10.30am (AEST) press conference at their AAMI Park headquarters on Monday, where the decision is expected to be made public.
Neeld was contracted until the end of the 2014 season.
But his position had become increasingly untenable, with Melbourne’s only victory so far in 2013 coming against the winless GWS Giants.
The pressure on Neeld intensified after Peter Spargo was appointed interim Demons president on Friday, replacing Don McLardy.
