Melbourne Demons head odds to win 2022 AFL Premiership

Melbourne have won their first AFL premiership flag in 57 years after their 140-66 win over the Western Bulldogs.

The Dees were as much as $26 to win the Grand Final in early March but came into today’s Grand Final as $1.65 favourites. Although beginning quickly, the Western Bulldogs clawed their way back and actually led by 19 points midway through the third quarter.

TAB had Melbourne’s price at $2.70 at that point, however, a flurry of goals before the final term saw the Demons back into $1.16 favourites with a quarter to go.

Melbourne held 58 percent of the money in TAB’s Head-to-Head market compared to the Bulldogs 42 percent.

TAB earlier this week released their Premiership winner market for 2022 with Melbourne $5.50 to go back-to-back while the Bulldogs are rated a $6 chance to go one better.

  • Christian Petracca was a $6 favourite at the start of the match to win the Norm Smith Medal
