McGrath re-signs with Brisbane Lions

Brisbane veteran Ash McGrath appears set to end his AFL career as a one-club man after signing a two-year deal with the Lions.

The 2003 premiership-winning forward has resisted the lure of free agency to sign the new deal, which will keep him with the Lions until at least the end of 2014.

The 29-year-old is the latest Lions star to re-sign with the club after Simon Black, Ryan Lester, Matt Maguire and Rowan Bewick all put pen to paper in recent weeks.

McGrath, who was taken by the Lions as pick 13 in the 2000 AFL draft, said his decision was an easy one.

“The club has built such a great culture, and with the young talent that we have been able to expose to senior footy over the last two years, its an exciting time to be at the club,” he said.
