McCartin in as Saints sweat on Riewoldt

St Kilda have named No.1 draft pick Paddy McCartin for his third AFL game, with skipper Nick Riewoldt racing to be fit to face Richmond on Sunday.

McCartin made his debut in round three but has played just one game since.

Riewoldt is fighting to overcome another calf complaint ahead of Sunday’s match that will also serve as a tribute to his sister, Maddie, who suffered from a rare bone marrow disorder and recently died.

The Saints will also unveil another first-round draft pick against the Tigers, with key defender Hugh Goddard named to make his AFL debut.

Coach Alan Richardson has made three changes in all to the side beaten by GWS last week, with Eli Templeton earning a call-up.

Tim Membrey, Adam Schneider and Seb Ross have all been dropped.

Richmond regain Ivan Maric from a one-week suspension and recall Matt McDonough and Ben Lennon, while Ty Vickery (suspension), Steve Morris (omitted) and Shane Edwards (leg) all depart.

Port Adelaide and Adelaide have made two changes each for their Showdown clash.

Nathan Krakouer and Aaron Young are in for the Power, while the Crows have included Brodie Martin and Rory Atkins, who will make his AFL debut.

Former Adelaide skipper Nathan van Berlo has paid the price for a lean run of form and drops back to the SANFL.

Melbourne coach Paul Roos has made no changes to the 22 who suffered a disappointing loss to Essendon, while Brisbane regain Stef Martin, Ryan Harwood and Mitch Robinson for their encounter with the Demons at the MCG.
