Tom Langdon’s stellar start to the AFL season has been rewarded with the round-seven Rising Star nomination.
Langdon was best afield last Friday night in Collingwood’s 34-point win over Carlton, patrolling the half-back line with poise and tallying 23 disposals.
The 19-year-old debuted in round one and has played every game since, picking off intercept marks with ease and making a fool of many talent scouts.
“Tom was originally passed over in the 2012 draft giving him a resilience, a drive and a desire to embrace his opportunity and take it with both hands,” Magpies coach Nathan Buckley said of the No.65 selection in last year’s draft.
“He still has a long way to go in his football journey, but what we have seen so far has been very encouraging.”
