While it might be rare for two players to outscore the entire opposition in an AFL game, punters at Sportingbet Australia believe Hawthorn stars Lance Franklin and Jarryd Roughead are capable of doing just that when they take on GWS at Aurora Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The odds of Franklin and Roughead combining to score more points than GWS has firmed from $2.25 to $2.20 with Sportingbet. GWS’s odds have eased from $1.65 to $1.67.

“The Giants are averaging 80 points per game this season and we’ve marked Franklin and Roughead down for about 60, so GWS do deserve slight favouritism in this market,” Sportingbet spokesman Andrew Brown said.

“But if the Giants only manage 52 like they did last week against Adelaide then suddenly the Franklin/Roughead combination could be value,” Brown said.

Hawthorn are clear-cut $1.01 favourites to defeat GWS at $21.00, while the line has moved from 92.5 to 95.5.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hawks are giving GWS 100 points start by Saturday as the punters just keep backing Hawthorn at the line,” Brown said.

In a separate Sportingbet market, the Giants are $2.65 favourites to finish the season without a win, $3.50 to beat Melbourne in Round 19 or $4 to beat the Western Bulldogs in Round 15.
