Josh Kennedy new favourite for Coleman Medal 2013

His side may have suffered a surprise loss at the hands of Richmond, but West Coast Eagles full forward Josh Kennedy’s three goal haul has seen him become the new favourite to win the Coleman Medal with online bookmaker sportsbet.

Starting the season at big odds of $18, he has firmed from $4.00 to $3.75 after last night’s game, with former favourites Jack Riewoldt and Lance Franklin both drifting from $4.00 to $4.50.

In Brownlow betting Gary Ablett continues to place some distance between himself and all others, firming from $5.00 into the shortest odds of any player since the market opened at $3.75. Jobe Watson remains his biggest competition at $7.00, while Patrick Dangerfield has firmed from $12 into $9.00.

“All the attention has been on Jack and Buddy for the Coleman, however punters are starting to realise that Kennedy is a genuine threat. No surprises that Ablett has firmed even further for the Brownlow and easily remains the best backed player,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

In Round 11 betting despite Carlton being $2.00 outsiders against Essendon ($1.80), they have had more than double the money bet on them.

As throughout the entire month of June, sportsbet.com.au will continue to refund all losing first goalscorer bets if the first score of the match is a point! This happened five times out of nine matches during Round 10 with over $75,000 worth of bets refunded.
