Joel Selwood’s odds shorten to win Brownlow Medal 2014

Joel Selwood has been the biggest mover in Brownlow Medal betting following the completion of Round 18 of the AFL, firming from $11 into $6.50 fourth favouritism at Sportingbet.com.au.

Sportingbet’s analysts failed to award Josh Kennedy ($3.75) and Scott Pendlebury ($4.25) any votes in Round 18, meaning Selwood is just two votes behind Kennedy and only one vote behind Pendlebury in Sportingbet’s running Brownlow Medal vote tally.

Gary Ablett ($5) still maintains a five vote lead over Kennedy, according to Sportingbet.

“Punters have actually stepped back in and backed Ablett after the weekend, believing his hopes of holding on have improved,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.

“Most of the recent cash has swung Selwood’s way though as the Cats captain continues his late-season charge.”
