It’s a trend that happens every year – despite voting for the Brownlow being done and dusted, money has come for Joel Selwood to win over the weekend on the back of his best on ground performanceon Friday night.
After his three goal, 31 possession game, punters have unloaded on Selwood, with the majority of money bet over the weekend with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au on the Brownlow going on the Geelong skipper.
Selwood remains the favourite at $2.85 and is now the best backed player overall, ahead of Josh Kennedy who is fourth favourite at $10.
“It’s a funny thing, he obviously can’t get votes during the finals but just the way he played was obviously enough to remind punters how well Selwood finished off the season. Punters still think he is value at $2.85,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
In finals betting, money has come for Port to beat the Dockers, with the Power firming from $2.65 into $2.50. Fremantle remain favourites but have drifted from $1.46 to $1.53, with three times the money being bet on Port Adelaide.
