After weeks of Ollie Wines being the short priced favourite to win the Rising Star award, Gold Coast’s Jaeger O’Meara has again moved back into favouritism, firming from $3.50 to $2.85 over the weekend with online bookmaker sportsbet.
Wines, who still remains the best backed player with punters, has drifted from $2.50 to $3.25, with Bradley Hill third favourite at $7.50.
Despite being yet to play a game, Essendon’s Joe Daniher has continued to be well backed and is the fourth best backed player overall, despite his long odds of $51.
“O’Meara is once again favourite and it looks like punters are split between him and Wines. But we haven’t stopped taking bets on Daniher and no doubt punters will be keeping an eye on him when he finally debuts,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
