Gold Coast Sun’s young gun Jack Martin has been installed a clear-cut favourite at Sportingbet to be the 2014 AFL Rising Star.
Martin is a $6 top pick at Sportingbet ahead of Collingwood’s Brodie Grundy at $11.00.
“Martin absolutely dominated at NEAFL level this year and his numbers were more impressive than reigning Rising Star winner Jaegar O’Meara’s back in 2012. This suggests Martin could be on target for a cracking rookie season,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
“Grundy is the logical second favourite after what was a superb second half of the season with the Pies this year,” Brown said.
Adelaide’s Mitch Grigg, Hawthorn’s Jed Anderson and the Bulldogs’ Nathan Hrovat are on the third line of betting at $12.
