A little bit of MCG magic from Lewis Jetta last Friday almost had his Sydney teammate Kieren Jack doing handstands.
But co-captain Jack is unsure whether the Swans speedster – yet to commit to another season with the AFL club – will stay in the harbour city beyond 2013.
“I hope he does re-sign. There’s a whole lot of us that have and we certainly see a bright future here and I hope he does as well,” Jack said on Monday.
“I think he’s in that process at the moment, hopefully it won’t be too far away. He’s a vital member of the side.”
Jetta, a key part of the Swans’ rise to the 2012 premiership, has returned to form in recent weeks after a quiet start to the season.
He proved his worth in Sydney’s last-start 47-point win over Collingwood, flying past Magpies captain Nick Maxwell to boot a stunning goal on the run midway through the third term.
“If the camera was on me when he kicked that goal, I was nearly doing handstands,” Jack said.
“I was absolutely rapped.
“We love it as much as everyone else, I’m sure.”
