Jack can accept fine for misconduct charge

Sydney co-captain Kieren Jack is free to play in Saturday’s AFL grand final against Hawthorn, despite being charged for engaging in misconduct against North Melbourne’s Luke McDonald in last Friday night’s AFL preliminary final.

An early guilty plea to the level-one charge would see Jack fined $1800.

If he chooses to contest the charge at the tribunal and is unsuccessful, the sanction would increase to $2400.

The charge arose from a first-quarter incident when Jack slung McDonald into a group of officials at ANZ Stadium.

No other players were cited from the two preliminary finals.
