Hawthorn captain Luke Hodge has predictably accepted a two-game AFL suspension.
Hodge will sit out the last two rounds before the finals after being charged with rough conduct against Port Adelaide star Chad Wingard.
His high bump meant Wingard’s head was sandwiched between Hodge and the point post but the Power forward did not suffer serious injury.
Hodge would have risked a three-game ban – putting him out of action for the first week of the finals – if he took the case to the tribunal.
Fremantle onballer David Mundy has also accepted a $1000 fine for striking North Melbourne veteran Brent Harvey.
Dockers star Nat Fyfe remains the Brownlow Medal favourite after the match review panel decided on Monday not to proceed with a report for front-on contact.
