Henderson puts hand up to play for Cats

Geelong are set to be boosted by the return of Lachie Henderson for next week’s AFL preliminary final.

Henderson hasn’t played since undergoing knee surgery after round 22, but he took part in a searching 90-minute training session at Deakin University near Geelong on Saturday morning.

Scott Selwood spoke to reporters after the gruelling hitout, which he said would help the Cats stay physically on edge and mentally focused as they wait to see if they’ll play Sydney or Adelaide next week.
