Hawthorn midfielder Isaac Smith failed to train on Thursday, a day out from the AFL qualifying final against West Coast in Perth.
The Hawks had a run at Domain Stadium shortly after the bulk of the team flew into Perth.
Smith is in a race against time to recover from the knee injury he suffered during last Saturday night’s win over Carlton.
