Hawthorn are confident star forward Cyril Rioli will miss just one week with the hip injury that will keep him out of Saturday’s clash against St Kilda.

Coach Alastair Clarkson concedes the Hawks’ chances of recording back-to-back wins took a hit when Rioli succumbed to the injury, but said a cautious approach was required.

“It will be more difficult to win without (Rioli) but our view has always been to make sure we take fit players … hopefully he’ll get right and return next week,” Clarkson told reporters on Friday.
