Hawthorn captain Luke Hodge will contest his rough conduct charge at the AFL tribunal, risking his appearance in Friday night’s clash with West Coast.
Hodge was charged after a high bump on Carlton defender Lachie Henderson.
The minor grading of the offence, which was ruled negligent conduct of low impact, meant Hodge could have avoided suspension by pleading guilty and accepting a reprimand.
However rather than carry 93.75 demerit points by pleading guilty, Hodge will fight the charge.
He risks a one-match ban if found guilty.
