If we talk about a lack of effort from the West Coast Eagles we need to emphasise the opposite for GWS.
The Giants have now won four of their last five putting them one game out of the top eight and finals football is well and truly on their radar.
None of those wins was more impressive than their win over Melbourne in Alice Springs on Sunday and they have laid a foundation for the rest of their season on the back of contested football.
After a successful period, the Hawks have now lost three of their last four and they are in desperate need of their inspirational skipper James Sicily who seems to be a barometer for a young and rebuilding Hawks outfit.
Hawthorn has lost their last seven straight games at Giants Stadium and while I do think GWS get the job done, the Hawks will be competitive for the majority of the game.
