Greens demand inquiry into Essendon

A system that lays all of its blame on footballers is broken and needs to be reviewed, the Greens say.

Federal Greens leader Richard Di Natale has called on Sport Minister Sussan Ley set up a broad independent inquiry into Australia’s anti-doping framework after the banning of 34 AFL players for anti-doping offences.

“I think it is a really big mistake to have a system that lays all of the blame almost exclusively on the players,” Senator Di Natale told reporters on Wednesday.
