St Kilda coach Alan Richardson says Sam Gilbert is in the mix for AFL selection this week, shortening even further the AFL’s smallest injury list.
After impressing in the VFL, the defender only needs to prove his fitness in Thursday’s main training session to return to the AFL for the first time since round 22 last season.
Richardson said a healthy list made his players more competitive.
“It puts a bit of pressure on for positions which is what we need,” he said.
Gilbert’s recovery from a quad injury means the Saints are just one player away from a complete bill of health, with only Sam Fisher (hamstring) on the injury list.
