Geelong summon AFL stars to face Carlton

Geelong have summoned a trio of premiership winners to face struggling Carlton in Friday night’s AFL match.

Cats stars Tom Hawkins, Andrew Mackie and James Kelly have been named for the Etihad Stadium fixture, replacing Mitch Duncan (foot) and dropped duo Josh Walker and Sam Blease.

The last-placed Blues made four unforced changes, recalling Kade Simpson, Dylan Buckley, Liam Jones and Patrick Cripps at the expense of Matthew Dick, Matthew Watson, Kristian Jaksch and David Ellard.

Hawthorn, like Geelong, also called on a trio of premiership players for Saturday night’s grand final rematch against Sydney.

The Hawks named Brian Lake, Jordan Lewis and Isaac Smith while the Swans made just one change for the MCG encounter, dropping Dean Towers in favour of Harry Cunningham.

A pair of big names also return for Collingwood, with Steele Sidebottom and Alex Fasolo included for the Magpies’ away match against the Gold Coast, with Alex Toovey (knee) and Patrick Karnezis missing out.

The Suns dumped three players – Zac Smith, Greg Broughton and Matt Shaw – and called in Adam Saad, Tom Lynch and Luke Russell.
