Geelong’s finals chances all but slipped away with their second loss in a row at home last weekend.

Credit needs to go to Fremantle who were excellent away from home and the form of Geelong simply doesn’t warrant a finals birth.

The Cats will need to win three of their last four to extend their season past August, a month that includes dates with ladder leaders Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs.

Port Adelaide are faltering at the wrong end of the season and have now lost their last three.

A narrow defeat to Collingwood in the middle of two bad losses to Carlton by 50 and Adelaide by 47 has plenty questioning their premiership credentials.

Both Fremantle and GWS have beaten the Cats at GMHBA Stadium providing the blueprint and somewhat debunking the ‘hardest road trip in football’ tagline.

Port Adelaide has had a tough time of it in Geelong in recent times and the Cats have won seven of their last eight against them at GMHBA Stadium by 25+ points.

The Cats will be without Mark Blicavs and Tom Hawkins and have had trouble scoring in recent weeks.

Geelong have come up extremely short in my opinion but I’m not confident in this game form a head to head perspective.
