GC Suns re-sign Lonergan, Schade

Gold Coast have boosted their roster for the next two AFL seasons, with promising Tasmanian teenagers Jesse Lonergan and Henry Schade re-signing with the Suns until the end of 2015.

Lonergan, who was selected with the No.13 pick in the 2012 AFL draft, made his senior debut in the home match against Fremantle in round six, and said he was glad to stay at the Suns.

“I’m rapt to have re-signed with the club. I’ve enjoyed the move to the Gold Coast and I’m loving my time up here,” Lonergan said.

Schade, a 196cm defender, was the Suns’ first selection and No.24 overall in the 2011 AFL draft and has yet to make his senior debut as he works in the gym to built up his body.

The pair join teammates Jack Martin, Zac Smith, Trent McKenzie, Seb Tape, Rory Thompson, Jackson Allen, Clay Cameron and Charlie Dixon, who have all re-committed to Gold Coast in 2013.
