The two biggest ball magnets in the league will be going head to head this weekend but, in a sign of just the sort of form he is in, Gary Ablett is the $1.45 favourite with online bookmaker sportsbet to get more of the ball than Collingwood’s Scott Pendlebury.
Despite averaging almost 30 possessions a game this year, Pendles is the $2.62 outsider.
Both Ablett and Pendlebury are the front runners in Brownlow betting, but once again it’s Ablett way out in front, the clear $1.60 favourite ahead of Pendlebury at $7.00.
The news doesn’t get any better for Pendlebury in match betting, with more than six times the money bet on Gold Coast ($2.25) despite Collingwood being $1.70 favourites.
“We have hardly taken any money for the Pies and have drifted them out from $1.60. Collingwood will still start favourites, but Gold Coast’s price could continue to come in if they money keeps up at this rate,” saidsportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
